Quickest Way To 300hp... Question
Heys guys, somewhat of a newb here... Been searching alot about upgrading and parts through the forums, didnt see this already posted...
Basic question or not too basic...
What is the quickest way to 300HP? Would I be there with soley a JWT Popcharger and Z-tube, or would i need other upgrades... Probably a newb question and extremely Non-technical but hey I wny know if I dont ask.
Thanx guys, this forum is such a big help.!
P.S~~~> Should we be able to atleast tail a Lacer EVO?

the pop charger/z tube combo shouldnt be put on for horsepower increase.. just the sound...
1. exhaust ( HKS )
2. Cats ( Crawford )
3. Plenum Spacer ( Motordyne)
4. UR Pulleys
im pretty sure these mods will get you over 300hp.. so research them and give them a try. they arent too expensive except for the exhaust.. will run you about 2800

I'm with you Jeveryday! I also have the 05 AT Coupe. I've been constantly wondering how the hell I can get 20hp!!! Will a catback alone be able to do it? Or do i have to spend more cash on intake-headers-exhaust? I know what the functions are of each part, but how much power can I get from each?

Improving air flow in/out is the best bang for the buck and will help you meet your goal..
Z tube and POP charger (used $100)should net you 5 rwhp minimum..search and you will see dynos for this
the other 15 rwhp...try this....
---Crawford plenum or Motordyne spacer ($200) approx 7 rwhp
---High Flow Cats ($400 and up) or test pipes(ewww that smell-$100 and up) approx 6 rwhp
**remember mods rob and steal from each other** I ran test pipes and then hf cats with my stock exhaust for approx 10K and it sounded fine until my muffler imploded...If your state is really tough on emissions you will have no choice but to move to cat back...
There you have it approx $700 assuming you do the installs and you have added approx 18 rwhp..
Adding a cat back will change the sound for sure and give some but not a whole lot more than what I listed above...
---Cat back $600 and up
Hope this helps

I'd say go hardpipe intake, exhaust, fuel (pump and injector upgrade), and a ECU piggyback and a tunning session or a TS ECU flash. If you want to upgrade the pulleys, do so, but leave the crank pulley alone, there's a reason why theres a damper for harmonics. otherwise you can also upgrade your pulley damper to a fluid dynamics one. There's also some cheat ways in increasing compression (if youre not going forced induction), like finding a thinner metal head gasket and shaving the cylinder head. i believe HKS may have a metal head gasket, but consult with a speedshop/machineshop to help you find one.
Intake and full exhaust may gross you about 15-20rwhp, better fuel complements and tuning may get you an additional 10-15rwhp. You might be well shy 20-30rwhp of hitting 300rwhp. From there, a quick burst of laughing gas is tried and true, and a little 50hp shot may get you that small *umph* you might need.

Thanks alot fellas... I think I will start with the POP and Z tube and see if I notice a difference. From there I will move up.
My main goal is to be able to hang with A DAMN EVO and STI, even though the STI is a pretty drastic catch, i already know...

To end all discussion an easy way to get over 300 hp is (not rw)
Crawford Plenum
COLD AIR intake
Stillen Exhaust
Stillen Ground Wires
Pulleys and Belt set
Stillen HEaders
hks spark plugs
i think this should do it but dont qoute
