Crawford Hi-Flow Cats - Is this normal?

great mod; great sound; good god what's that stink coming out the back?

Is the stink normal and will it diminish with time?

It'll probably stink with high flow cats but maybe someone can confirm. All my cars have been with no cats so I guess I dont know the difference...

Is the odor accompanied by a 'sloshing' sound coupled with a slight moan ?

I'll go ahead and apologize NOW for that one, however, stinch may be result of less cleanup compared to stock units !

My friend put high flow cats and exhaust on his jeep before. It smelled like sulfer(rotten eggs). He only got the smell when he floored it or redlined it.

I have Crawfords. The stink is not normal. I did have smoke for awhile after changing out my exhausts, but not with the cats. I'm assuming you have no CEL. Give Doug a call monday morning and ask him what's going on.

I have the Crawfords and NO...the stink is not normal.

The only time I smell that stink is if I had Taco Bell in the car.

I had a smell for about 2 days but it was not awful, smelt like cleaner burning off and then it disappeared, no more smell for me.

the first few times the cats heat up to operating temperature you will smell a burnt or electrical type stink, and it should go away after that. they will not smell out the tail pipe unless you also replaced the exhaust.

The smell is 100% NORMAL. The cats are getting hot for the first time and they are burning in. It should smell like a really strong sulfur smell if the cats are working properly. I've lived through my RT Cats experience and through both C-Keith's and G35Sean's Crawford Cats and they all stunk to high heaven.

For those who didn't notice the skunk smell, they must have had another skunk smell inside of their G's to over power it.

wow---some(neffster, etc) say the smell is normal---others (sixfive etc) say it is not. I will give Doug a call today and see what he has to say.
And yes---no CEL
But a great mod

I would think the smell would be normal but I didn't notice it. Not noticing it certainly doesn't mean it's not there as Neffster alluded previously. I drive with windows open all the time too...hmmmm. Anybody got any cheetos?
