I was checking my Z tube and throttle body tody, to see how dirty it got, and also took out the air filter to see how dirty it is. to make it all easier, i took out the whole airbox and tubing to get to the throttle body. after putting everything together (didnt touch anything, all looked clean) i turned the car on and the SES or CEL light came on. I disconnected the negative battery part and checked again after putting it back, light is still on. im leaving the negative off for a few hours see what happens. any ideas? solutions? thanks

Did you disconnect the battery before disocnnecting the MAF sensor? Did you turn the key to ACC with the MAF sensor disconnected or loose? This might trigger your CEL.....

Or is the MAF sensor loose after reconnecting it?

I think others who did an ECU reset were able to get rid of the CEL.

i accidently turned the car on w/ the MAF off, thought i had plugged it in. probably triggered by that. i guess ill do the technosquare ECU reset procedure. thanks

That'll do it. If the ECU reset doesn't work, I've been told that after about 7 to 10 cold-start cycles, the light should go off.

I have done this before. Forgot to plug the MAF before I turned the key. But hey! No problemo. just do the pedal reset. I cleared the CEL within two minutes. I have been able to do the pedal ECU reset fairly effortlessly for a couple of years now.
