New Guy, have a few questions!!

Hey, well I just wanted to introduce myself and say that i had a few questions about the G35 coupe!! I dont currently have one but as you can see by my username, hope to have one before too awful long!! I was just wondering who all here has the 5 speed automatic version instead of the 6 speed manual? I also wondered what differences, other than the classic auto vs. manual, the two models have? Also, what all aftermarket parts and accessories are available for the G35 coupe? I have been lookin at both but just think the G is much better looking than the Z!! You can see what Im driving now by lookin at my homepage!! Im lookin forward to owning a G!! Thanks for the information!!

Future G35 owner!!

Welcome. I don't want to sound mean, but all of the information you are asking is out there already. Check out the search in this forum as well as the freshalloy.com forums for the coupe and sedan. There is a nice FAQ there as well that answers a lot of your Q's.

see ya!

Welcome abourd bro. Like Aquinas says: it's all in here somewhere. Have a look around and enjoy.
Not sure how many have the 6M/T or A/T, They're both very popular in their own right. I personally have the auto version which up here in Canada doesn't come from the factory with the trunk wing or Brembo brakes.
Look forward to hearing from you and good luck when your new ride arrives.

Re: New Guy, have a few questions!!

6MT comes stock with leather/heated seats, brembo brakes, 18" wheels, and LSD

5AT is not available with brembos, but you can get the 18" wheels and LSD thru the Sports package with the 5AT

I personally chose the 6MT over 5AT because of 1) more "connected" feeling with the car, and 2) gotta love those large, golden brembos!

Thanks for the info. Yeah, i did a little searchin after i already posted the questions and found alot of info. There doesnt seem to be that much out there as far as accessories for the G!! Seems like the Z is getting more for it, but I guess that was expected!! I wont get mine for a while but Im already excited by just the thought of gettin one!!

great choice and welcome to the forum!

there aren't a lot of aftermarket products for this car yet, but this is a good site to be on to find out when things do come out. Enjoy!

Re: New Guy, have a few questions!!

I am like you (hopeful future owner, planning for 1 month after i find a job - lol) anyway, so far what I have found for aftermarket mods are the basic things.

www.stillen.com has CAIs and cat backs
there is a huge thread in here with all kinds of info about grounding kits and a ton of links to places to get them
I have seen people doing lighting upgrades that are decent, a few sound system upgrades are out there (some including a computer in the car handling MP3, NAV, DVD, etc...)

At this point the basic mods are available, but you should take the opportunity to think about ways to make yours really unique with custom mods (that is my plan)
