ECU/Zeitronix wiring help
Okay guys. Had the Vortech put in last weekend and the shop hooked up the Zeitronix along with it. It works perfectly except the RPM signal that the laptop reads out. I can't make it read right. Here is what Zeitronix said:
"You need to connect the Zt-2 RPM wire into one of the coil drivers from the ECU...Zt-2 green wire is the RPM pick up.
You need to find your car ECU wiring diagram to determine which wires are ignition drivers"
So...can anyone interpret this for me? The shop that installed it is 7 hours away. Is this easy to check? Any help would be great as I need the RPM's to read right so I can check my correct a/f levels. Thanks

g8tor20: eric connected it to the crank position sensor wire already so it should read right
ask zeitronix what the voltage has to be on that wire aka what it needs to stay between.
the crank wire goes from 0 - 12 volts and averages 1.2 volts according to the service manual.
let me know what they say about the voltage and we can find a wire that will work.

hey,
on the ECM harness connector layout its lists the following PIN #'s:
pin 60 ignition signal no. 5
pin 61 ignition signal no. 3
pin 62 ignition signal no. 1
I would try any 1 of these to get a rpm signal
voltage is 0.1 - 0.4 on each lead

the location of these pin are as follows:
looking at the ecm connector terminal layout, you'll notice
on the far left; pins 1-5 in a group together(larger in size)
then to the right you'll see to more blocks of smaller pins.
the top block contains pins 6-43
the lower block of pins contains pins 44-81
62,61,60 are in the lower block, top row all the way to the left!
hope this helps

Side note... Bailey, that bracket you made and sent out to Jason was AWESOME! Really cool of you to do that, especially for the price you charged. Might consider selling those brackets for $29.95 and making a few bucks.
