Who Has Test Pipes On Their Coupe? What are my options?

Just wanted some feedback on test pipes and which brands people have used. How well do they work? Which brand would you suggest?

Dont waste your time and money looking for a brand they are all the same. I had mine custom made at a shopran me about 100-150 installed. I dont have the res on mine and the rasp is not that bad. It helps a lot on your top end and power over all.

You will reek of gas everytime you start it, pull up to a stop light, rev it.....Etc.

It sounds amazing at WOT.
I know a few people and DaveO can confirm this along with a few others that with "intake, Plenum, and test pipes" you will be up near the 280rwhp range.

Im there

Those are the three things I was aiming for except I might get the spacer instead of the actual plenum

zazaracing, I'm guessing those numbers would come from on a dyna pack dyno, am I right?

My personal and observed experience is that you would gain a net of 20rwhp over the stock set up with intake, plenum and test pipes.

It's important that everyone not get too caught up in the numbers. Some dynos are much more generous than others. Not taking into consideration road loads, wheel inertia, etc... The delta from a stock G on a loaded Mustang dyno to the same stock car on a dynapack dyno can yield results that are over 30 rwhp apart. That's a big delta from one dyno to the next...

None the less, I'd agree with the mod plan. One thing to note, if your build date is 10/2003 or later you have a ULEV2 G35. If this is the case you will have 'issues' throwing a CEL with the test pipes and may want to consider getting a set of Crawford high flow cats (or another brand should you so choose).

I got my test pipes from www.vrsexhaust.com

I went to their shop (Miami Muffler) in Miami. AT that time, I asked them to put the "O2 sensor spacers" on my test pipes. These basically space the rear O2s a bit out of the exhaust flow path. Result: No CEL!!!

hey I have my generic test pipes for sale for $50bucks + nominal shipping charge. I went fi & have high flow cats on there now. Good quality.
There was/is some raspiness at WOT at a certain rpm range. Let me know.

you're welcome.
but shipping would be probably 10-15 bucks. I'd only charge for actual shipping cost. I have boxes & bubble wrap in my garage.
If its makes it easier I sell em for $60 bucks shipped. Just want them out of my garage. My eBay name is the same as my name here. You can check out my history. I'm honest & fair.

cel: is a car built date issue. the earlier built cars pre 2003.5 dont throw a cel, after taht it's a toss up. Mine didn't. Build date is october 2002.
custom: no, not really just bought them off a web site. good quality & fit, nice welds.

that's ok,
just watch out most, if not all pipes, will throw a CEL. Unless you do the mod thats listed in some threads here or my350z.com. Again, it's not the pipes but our computer/o2sensor.
