i looked at the serv manual again, pg BL-18...the actuator connector, D15, shows it inside the door, near the door jamb. Sort of looks like behind the exterior door handle area. Looks like the cables inside the door run right to it.

i have no idea...the picture in the manual is a small black and white drawing of it and it is not very clear. My guess would be if you follow the cables in the door back to what they connect to that is it. Looks like the electrical connector goes into it also. I don't think it is a motor like you would think of...looks more like some type of assembly to me. Maybe someone else with the serv manual can try to post up that page, but the picture is not very descriptive.

I actually just noticed this last night on my car. No aftermarket alarms or anything. Pressing unlock would just barely nudge the driver side lock, and it would not fully move in place.

I guess I'll take to the dealer.

hey dude are there 2 actuators or just one on the driver side? what are the chances if there are 2 of them that both went bad? also can u tell me if the actuator is riveted to the door or is it bolts? i have a buddy of mine who can fix it if they deny me at coconut creek infiniti since i have aftermarket alarm. although i did a good job of hidding it, it is in their computer from the other dealer who voided it. hopefuly they wont look at the history and fix it under warranty. thanks again for the help. ohh also where can i buy the actuator? thanks RX

I just went to the dealer to get mine fixed. Mine would sometimes move very little bit or not move at all (only the passenger side door). I have an aftermarket alarm too but they didn't give me any hassle. They ordered the part and it arrived the next day. I'm going in this wednesday to get it replaced.

I would take it back to the original dealership and have THEM fix it under warranty. To void the warranty they need to prove that your alarm caused the failure. If the failure is on the OUTPUT side of the BCM then your alarm could NOT have caused the failure.

You see, when you hook up an alarm your lock and unlock wires are connected in parallel with your drivers side key cylinder. The alarm mimics the signal made by turning the key in the cylinder.

When you turn the key in the door cylinder it sends a signal to the Power Window Module in the drivers side door. This module converts the signal and sends it to the BCM over a serial data line. The BCM then reads the data and fires the relays necesarry to control the door lock actuator (sometimes called motor, although it is technically an actuator).

What I'm getting at, is that the alarm (if installed properly) could ONLY damage the drivers side power window module, NOTHING else. If you print out the detailed schematics from the service manual it will be easy to see this.

i got my car back from the dealer.. unfortunately i forgot to ask for the part number. I watied about 2 hours for them to fix it I was pretty bummed out and just wanted to get the hell out.. lol. But it works now.. i'm guessing its just the door lock motor .. I was afraid they were going to come in during the process and tell me that my alarm system caused it but 2 hours went by and they gave me the thumbs up. Now I find myself constantly unlocking and locking my door just for the hell of it.. puts a smile on my face that its working properly! Amazing what a little problem can do to ur mind!

door lock actuator where do i get one on the net?

so i finally get an appointment to take my car in (since hurricane Wilma) and they also said that they cannot help me since it shown on thier computer that my warranty is voided for the door loocks due to alarm system anyway. I'm tired of having no auto locks and need to know if anyone knows where and how much for the driver door lock actuator so i can do it myself? i guess i can go to the dealer but was wondering if anyone knew where else since it will prob be cheaper elsewhere. help! thanks
part number [door lock actuator RK26AA]
