Door Locks Not Working Properly

Hey guys ive got a real problem here. i took my car in to the shop to have my door locks looked at because they dont work. and they said my warranty had voided becuase i jave aftermarket alarm which taps into the buttons/switch board. they said i needed to replace the whole switch in the drivers side. so i borrowed a friends car and took the switch out, both driver and passenger, replaced them with his (which work) and i still have the same problem.
The problem im having speciffivally is kind of wierd. first of all no matter which switch i use wether mine or my friends, what happens is that when i press the lock once, the passenger door works to lock and when i press unlock again it also works. what DOES NOT WORK IS MY DRIVER SIDE. although it DOES MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO UNLOCK OR LOCK WHEN UNLOCK OR LOCK IS PRESSED. However, the more times i press the button to lock or unock the weaker the signal gets to the locks and eventually the button only makes a clicking sound and neither unlocks or locks either door. what is strange is that i know it is not either driver nor passenger seat button mechanisms.
Now when i use the hand remote: It will unlock the passenger door when i press the actual driver lock to lock it will lock the passenger door. i can go back and forth from the driver lock to the remote unlock and all works well for the paseenger side. as for the driver side, wether i use the driver lock unlock button or the remote, what happens is an attempt to either lock or unlock but not fully complete the act of locking or unlocking. the bottom line is that the dealer told me that my warranty was voided cause of the wire i had going to the driver side switches (which has been disabled for future warranty work at another dealer)
if i know it cannot be the switches board on either driver door or passegenr door, then what can it be?
it seems to me that its a power thing. since the more times i press the buttons(lock/unlock) the less the ***** near the handle move. please , please what can i do?

what about bringing it to another dealer since i removed the aftermarket alarm cable? will they have record from the other dealer stating that it has been compromised and that my warranty is voided?

what can the problem be? the boards on both doors, like i said were replaced by my friends and it still does this same problem. please help guys.

they wanted to charge me 1000 to replace each board on each door and harness(because it was compromised by aftermarket viper alarm).

in other words they told me that both door switches were bad (which are not)

help guys, please please. what do i do?

Step 1 - Locks were working

Step 2 - You installed an alarm

Step 3 - Locks don't work correctly

How is it Infiniti's fault? Take it to the shop that installed the alarm and make them fix it - sounds like an issue with their wiring. If you did it yourself, well then it's your fault.

The car worked fine before the alarm was installed.

do you really think im going to spend time writing this post if i new it was due to the alarm system install? the system was installed over a year before the door locks failed. i have also replaced the switches on both sides (with a friends G) and it is not the switches. so does anyone other than this guy, know what the problem might be? the door locks actually work at times usually better on the passenger side. but always makes the noise as if the switches work but the actuall latch does not move. almost as if the latches were being slowed down or jammed. if its not the switches than what else can it be? anyone? thanks RX

This is a common problem with this car. There are many others with this same problem, including me. Im bringing in my car this week to see if I can get it fixed. I also have an aftermarket alarm so hopefully they won't give me a hard time. I doubt it is the alarms fault. I installed my alarm nearly a year ago and it has been fine until now. The other threads I read were on a stock alarm and they still went bad. Im surprised you haven't heard about this.

what can the problem be?
it is prob the door lock motor. I had mine replaced under warranty...was doing the same thing. It would move a little when you hit the switch.

"door lock motor"???? what do you mean by that? which? are you referring to the buttons mechanism on the doors? i replaced them and that is not the cause. is there a separate motor under the dash or somewhere else like the BCM? i think you mean the BCM because the actuall switch unit was replaced on both doors. please respond RX

no, not the bcm.

What was replaced on my car is "door lock actuator RK26AA" due to "internal failure" p/n 80501-AM803 "lock and remote control"

I believe they said it was in the door and there is also a seperate one for the pass side. They had to order it.....but they knew it was the "door lock motor" as soon as i said it wasn't working right.

procedure to test it is on page BL-43 of the service manual.

well, the red owners have to stick together you know.

if you go to:
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/

i think you can get a 1 day subscription for like 20 bucks. This will allow you to view/download all the parts of the manuals and other publications.... Or you can just purchase it on CD for like a few hundred bucks from the same site.
