ok, from one 05 owner to another.
If you are looking for gains, do not listen to anyone that tells you Z tube and k&n or pop-charger.
The 05 is NOT the 03-04. Those combos add some intake noise up top (above 4k rpms).
However, if you want gains, you have to spend more money and go with the MREV mod from Motordyne Engineering.
Mine is on the way. But if you look at the threads that talk about it, the gains are quite impressive.
Btw, I have the Z-tube and K&n on my 05, and only really notice a difference in sound above 4k RPM's at WOT.

Can you or someone please tell me if the MREV mod can be used on the 2005 Coupe Auto version? I've already when through the tread on the MREV. It didn't seem to mention the compatibility of the kit to the Auto.
Thanks in advance

Mrev
first of all, the MREV is only for 05+ 6MT engines..
secondly, you can go to the modification reviews section to see more
about the MREV mod. It is basically an intake plenum mod (ask Tony from Motordyne for details lol) to provide you more midrange power and torque
with very minimal sacrafizing in the top end, and they are all dyno-proved.
Hope this helps,

For all that are interested in compatibility of MREV.
MREV is for ALL G35 and Z cars years 2005+ that have the Rev-Up engine. All 2005+ G35's and Z's have the Rev-Up engine regardless of MT or AT.
So if you have a 2005 or 2006 G35/Z AT/MT, the MREV mod will work for you.
The mod sacrifices a little (2.5HP) up top (above 6250 RPM), to give you major increases in HP and TQ (UP TO 18HP/22TQ) in the mid-range. The power is most noticeble between 3500-6000 RPM. If you look at this thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-drivetrain-forced-induction/70343-2005-6mt-coupes-18whp-22-29wtq-thanks-tony-motordyne-engineering.html
On the very first post, you will see the dyno results of MREV on 2 cars.
Everyone that has purchased one seems to have a big grin post install. So I will let you know if I have that same sentiment after I install mine next week.

I have the MREV.
It only works ont he 05-06 6MT "rev up" motors because the MREV uses the regular factory lower intake plenum. That is why it won't work on the AT models or the 03-04 engines......you already have that lower plenum!!!!
The MREV adds about 30 ft-lbs of torque to the "revup" motor, but it drops abotu 3-5 hp above 6200 rpm. Basically, is a well worth it trade off.
The engine no longer bogs down at low rpms, and there is a huge kick around 4000 rpms!!! A low speed turn in 1st gear can now easily get sideways with the VDC off.
LOTS of FUN!!!
