05 - 06 5ATs for 350Zs and G35s do not have the REV-UP engine.
They have the 03-04 set up - 287 lower plenum (long runners) and 6,600 RPM cut off.
The REV-UP motor has the 300 lower plenum (shorter runners), different exhaust cams , and a 7,100 RPM cutoff. MRC is verifying if it actually has different rods and pistons.

The MREV mod is a polishes 287 lower plenum with the runners cut down and a 5/16" spacer.

Hydrazine (Tony) is having a couple of people test the MREV plenum on the 03-04 engine.

I gained 15WHP and 17 FT-LB adding the ½” MD spacer with ISO Thermal Kit on my 2003 5AT. I already had an Invidia G200 exhaust and a Z-tube w/K&N. Here’s my dyno

You are not quite right.

The MREV is a totally stock standard lower intake plenum...(not modification to it!) combimed with a Motordyne 5/16" Iso spacer w/ the ISO-thermal package.

Tony offers a modded lower plenum which the top of the front cylinder port castings are shaved off so that it is easier for air to flow over them and get to the runners. The are that is shaved off is outside of the intake runners...this is not a "porting" of any intake runners.

Well, whatever Tony did, it works to a fault. I have the so-called "modified lower plenum."

I'll third that coming from an 05 owner. I just installed my UTR polished intake + pop charger this past Thanksgiving (For the combo it was something like 251, don't know where you're getting 300 for the tube alone). You won't gain any real significant numbers here, only sound in your upper rpm range (but it's still worth it IMO, the aggresive tone is sick). If you're looking for performance, go with the MREV, it's next on my list for modifications.

QuadCam,
You're right about the MREV plenum being a stock 287 lower plenum. I was hasty when writing my post.

I could have sworn I read a post where the runners (1&3), on a 287 plenum, were cut down about an inch.

As far an intake for the 05, I'd say the Z-tube and K&N would be the best.

Well, I have the MREV w/3/8 spacer and a Nismo Cold Air Intake. Works great!!!! More for the MREV then anything, but intakes themselves aren't that great. If you want to free up some power get High Flow Cats, such as Crawford. They would be the next best imo. Headers would be the third thing. Exhaust doesn't give much, but if you want a different exhaust note get a new exhaust, that's all you really get from an exhaust. These are my opinions and I'm sure people will say otherwise.

You should research a little more there superman... not all g35 and z cars years '05+ have the REV-Up engine. the rev-up engine is the 298HP 6MT motor. The auto is not the rev-up engine and the MREV modification was made specifically for the 6MT 05+ engines because the original MD spacer was showing loss in power for that specific engine. Just thought i'd let you know your're not exactly correct, not trying to be a dick or anything

Yes, both engines got a bump in power, but the 6MT is still the only RevUp package. The RevUp package, by definition, is the 298HP, high-rev (7000RPM) engine.

So the MD spacer isn't worth intalling if you have an auto??

How does the exact same engine from the 03-04 days got a bump of 20 HP and 10 ft/lbs of torque for the 2005/2006 car if the engines are the exact same?

And, why would nissan choose to make 2 separate engines for the cars?

I am not trying to be a dick here either, nor am I saying I am right... I just think its strange to have that much of a performance gain from the exact same engine.
I can't tell you exactly what tuning adjustments were made to the non-revup 05 motor(put in the automatics). But it's fairly accepted that the 03/04 260hp sedan motors were underrated. Someone else can provide more specifics.

As for the rev-up, not to be a *dick*, but do a search; it's been covered in more detail elsewhere. It is in fact a different motor. Stronger conrods, variable exhaust timing(versus intake-only on the non revup), different ecu maps, etc etc.

Yes, the MD Spacer is very worthwhile in the 5AT. Use the MD MREV mod options for the RevUp engines. It might be a good idea to read through some of the threads in the Reviews forums for some clarification.
