Can you remotely open and close your windows AND your sunroof???

The matrix style switching makes it impossible to pick the 'right wires' because in this case there are five different signals on the wires we need. I can make the hardware necesarry to do the interface, I just need to see how much interest there is.
It's not hard at all to interface with the matrix. I just used a few diodes and relays and can control all the lights by connecting the diodes (via the relays) across the proper combinations. You can also just hook a high power relay right up to the lights themselves, but that involves more serious (high power) wiring.

To control the windows (without using the door lock wires) you'll need to interface with the CAN bus. Now that does require a somewhat complex interface, but they do exist already. You can also control all the lights via the CAN bus as well...

Making the matrix "think" switches are on isn't hard, but pulling the data off of the bus to allow you to use the switches is more involved.

Also, I wasn't aware the windows were on the CAN bus, I thought it was a serial interface between the window controller and BCM. Do you have any info on any interface that allows the windows to be controlled without going in to the doors? I haven't seen one yet, but I would imagine its only a matter of time until someone figures it out.

Also, keep in mind that this thread is 4 years old. That being said, I still haven't seen anyone else add remote control to their sunroof without a KPtech module!

You may be right about the windows not being on the CAN bus. The factory alarm is internal to the BCM thus it can control windows and lock/unlock directly. I would definitely be curious to see exactly what is and what is not carried on the CAN bus. Have you ever scoped it?

Yes, I scoped it years ago when we were designing the window module. It is a single wire half duplex serial signal.
