K&N Drop in Filter Help
K&N Drop in Filter Help
Ok Did the searching, found (some) answers, but just want to make sure I'm doing this right. Don't want to mess anything up...
When installing the drop in filter is it ok to remove this bolt (see Pic below)) to move the back section (Air intake?) further back...
Thanks for any responses...this seems a little tricky and I don't want to mess anything up...

yeah sure, if you put it back when your done. I actually removed that piece with the MAF censor to move the cover futher back...theres not much space there. But yea, take it off, put it on. Wont do any harm

See my detailed description of how to install the K&N drop in air filter, or the OEM filter for that matter, in the DIY section. As soon as I bought my sedan in 2003, I went out and bought the K&N drop in flat filter. Damn! How do you change the air filer in this car. The owners manual says, "see your friendly Infiniti service department." BS!! So I drove down to the stealer and had one of the mechanics show me how to do it. It is fairly simple, can be done in less than five minutes, but it is not intutive at all. I wrote up a Do it Yourself guide that was posted in the DIY section. There are other guides on how to do it that are way too complicated and involve removing the MAF and such. Read mine and do it the way the Stealer does it. Very easy!
