Motordyne Plenum Spacer Install Question

I am about to install a Motordyne 5/16" spacer and have a couple of questions. Is there any reason to worry about damaging the existing gasket when removing the top half of the plenum? Should I buy a new one to install? Is any sealer or oil needed on the gaskets? Any tricks or things to be careful when installing would be greatly appreciated. Also, Tony said not to worry about resetting the ECU when since I'm just installing the spacer. Just drive it to redline a few times after the install. I have (I think) reset the ECU in the past by removing both engine fuses, cranking the engine, waiting a few minutes and then re-installing. Any tips or advice would be great Thanks!!!

If you've flashed your ECU - don't worry about resetting it. Just follow the directions and everything should be fine. Also, there are easy ECU resetting threads that work grear without vattery disconnects needed - but I'd just drive it around kind of hard for about 5 minutes - the ECU will adjsut itself.

No need to change the original gasket.
Just keep thinks clean & follow the instructions.

If you're doing the complete iso-thermal (highly recommended)
then you need to oil the new iso-therm lower gasket per instruction.

It's supposed to with the 5/16" one, which is why I went with it. It won't fit with the 1/2" spacer.

Yes - it does touch. 2 small 1/4 inch pencil line-sized areas - about 1/32" deep...like I'll even count that?

And sorry - but careful about what? No buldge on the hood - like nothing is there, and no fire or worry? Elaborate on careful, please.

Also, I'm not going to warn about possible hood damage or rubbing on an 05 G35 Coupe - It's not an issue on this car..others and years and 350's - possibly a differnet story.

yes, it fits... invert the grommets and it will (but snug). The rubbing on the hood liner is negligible.

If you are going to use the iso thermal kit - keep the cover off or use a Z cover (otherwise you're defeating the purpose).

I didn't invert the grommets - stock and still looks it too...
