What performance mod next?
What performance mod next?
I have a 2004 5AT Coupe.
I have the Gordgee 10 Wire Grounding Kit, INJEN CAI, and Motordyne Plenum Spacer with the Iso Thermal Thing.
I was wondering...what should I do next...Unorthodox Pulley Set or Intense Motorsports Y pipe or are there any other suggestions? ... nothing too big.
I don't want a full exhaust because I love the stock sound of the coupe exhaust.
Thanks a lot guys...I finished my subtle exterior...and working my way on performance now.

I'm not that really aggressive of a driver.
I lowered my car with the OEM 350Z springs and it dropped it pretty nicely.
I was just looking for some extra power...nothing huge.
I heard pullies were good for about 10hp.
I heard the y-pipe is good but people's reviews say that it generally makes the car feel slower???
It makes the exhaust sound quieter and makes the engine smoother.
I don't want to do a full catback...I was looking for a small mod thats sub $300.00.

some rough numbers, you get them cheaper used and the install costs are different all over the country........
pulleys around $300 or just do the crank for about $200 (most of the gains r in the crank), ??? for install
CATS around $500, another $75-100 for install
headers $300 and up, another $300-500 for install

i dunno why people would say they feel slower with a ypipe installed..
aftermarket ypipe just helps ease the flow restriction on the stock
ypipe ..and should NOT make you lose any tq or hp..
yet, i would recommend pulley or header..
for cats.. i just heard too many failing stories of different brand
names
good luck modding

Thanks for your help guys....I think I'm leaning more toward the pullies for now...
But I gotta do more research on cats ... it seems as though you guys are big supporters....

I would do the high-flow cats for sure, but I'd do more research on the pulleys. I'd reverse your last sentence if it were me.
How about some real n/a power with real mods like ECU and cams? Unless you're going with boost, this seems like the next logical step. You'd be surprised what some good tuning can do for even a stock car...

Yeh i think cams are something that I don't want to do.
I was thinking about having Technosquare redo my ecu but ... taking it out sending it to them and then waiting for and stuff like that seems kind of weird to me.
If I do cats would I have to do the mufflers too?
Would it change the sound of my exhaust greatly?

If you open up your cat, your exhaust will get a bit louder...
As for the ECU, that's a normal procedure... Hondata does the same. It reduces core charge and retains your stock immobilizer (if we have that in the G) and other stuff that's car specific if there is any, and pretty much makes life much easier for everybody...
