Painted Eng. Cover for newbie mechanics.

Sometimes our posts are all too serious. There is no intention here to make fun of any profession, but I am sure some of you have had an experience where you wondered if he knew which end of the socket wrench to grab :-(, and other experiences where their skills were truly outstanding.
Just finished my engine cover paint job yesterday, and am pleased how closely it matches the C_Blue.

It's beautiful. What kind of paint did you use?

2003 Twilight Blue Sedan 5AT, sunroof, leather,
splashguards, GG red 7 wire Hypergrounding kit, 350Z intake duct(soon), K&N filter.

Re: Painted Eng. Cover for newbie mechanics.

Looks great, but ya forgot the V6 3.5 in the middle.........IMHO would look better if you painted both to match.

Re: Painted Eng. Cover for newbie mechanics.

There is a long post on this subject at FreshAlloys by bOOgie. He did an outstanding job of providing clear project instructions. The paint is a remarkable match to the Caribbean Blue. It is Plasti-Kote, #311 Blue Metal Flake. Got mine at a local auto parts store for $5.00.

Just a bit of humor man. It was there only for the picture.

I like the contrast of the red and blue.

Don't recall specifically. Just do a search for all posts by bOOgie. the subject line read: Re: How to paint your engine cover (the short version).
