will beat an m3 after next mod

i just installed my borla cat-back and it made a big difference in performance.. with my intake, this thing now breaks loose when i shift into second and third.. i wish the exhaust was a little louder though.. eveyone says it sounds really sweet, but what can you say, i am a fanatic.. i am taking my g to the track next week.. should run between 13.75 and 13.85... when i install the borla headers. this car should run with an m3..hopefully it will be a little louder when i install the headers. but my other cars never got any louder when i put headers on them.. you never know

Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone here had beaten an M3 yet...I think our Gs need a little heavier modding than headers, exhaust, and CAI...It'll be nice when one of us does finally dust one though...Not that I dislike M3s or M5s- I think they really are the benchmark as far as luxury sport sedans and coupes are concerned...

Yeah, but what happens when you run across a modified M3 or M5? A modified Honda Civic or Ford escort can whip our G's!!!!!

Well, luckily not many M owners modify their rides...

Your not going to see many modded E46 M3’s cuz their engines can’t tolerate any major upgrades like FI.

i don't believe that because at the LA Auto Show. Race Marque Systems (A BMW Tuner) Had 3 different E-46 M-3's 2 Coupe's and 1 Convertible That were Supercharged and Pushing out 505 HP on the Dyno. I was pretty Impressed.....

Wow, I didn't think our G could keep up with the M3. There must have been something wrong with his car. The M3 is capable of going under 5 seconds, stock. I can't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.

rowdy, I am not sure anyone is as good as you are, if you can beat a car that runs under 5 seconds. You should be a professional racer.

Re: will beat an m3 after next mod

Nismo,

I know Race marque Systems too well. Osh, the owner, is the only guy who does the "tuning" - if you want to call it that. He did a supercharger in my old 528, then did a 3.2L bored to a 3.4L, and the engine and car never worked right. I went through 4 super chargers in a year (wife about killed me), and he could never tune the thing correctly. I wasted hour upon hour at his shop waiting for him to get done so I could take my "finished" car back to San Jose, only to have it blow up again 3 weeks later - over and over again. Needless to say, Dinan is probably the only company who can warranty their stuff. I could go on and on about the supposed warranty issues I had to pay Osh $5k for because he felt his sending up the wrong injectors, and subsequently having the engine detonate to hi-heaven, was a software issue, and not a mechanical / warranty issue.

Don't be fooled, I've had a ton of BMW's - even the service guys would tell me about the problems with the new engines, they are so tweaked that the engine can't take too much modifying. The cars you saw will break within the year, and never run correctly again - guaranteed.....in fact, I know the M5 owner (actually he's over seas) who got a supercharger - his car is on RMS's site, and he clearly stated Osh didn't do any software tuning to the car other than the obvious - that's a time bomb waiting to happen....
