300rwhp NA: Can it be done?

The title says it all. I've read bits and pieces about a few members chasing this target. Has anyone pulled it off? What did it take?

The question is, can it be done and keep the car street legal? I speed non-stop. (like 35-25 over the limit). and i have a rule - never break more than one law at a time. (cause if you get caught for one, you'll get caught for the other). So, if i tint my front windows, i have to stop speeding. If i delete the cats (test pipes), i have to stop speeding. If i add an exhaust that exceeds 95db, or even gives the cops probable cause that its over 95db, i have to stop speeding. etc. etc. And what's the fun of having a 300whp car if you can't speed?

because my last car was a 01 corvette. and i would get caugt for speeding. and i would talk my way out of it b/c i wasn't doing anything else illegal. (one time i was goin like 130 and slowed down before the cop got me 85 - but he saw me slow down - and he still let me go, cause i was doing everything else BY THE BOOK).

So you missed the point of my post. I am not afraid of getting caught for speeding. (it's inevitable, from time to time you are gonna get caught for speeding) I am afraid that after i get caught for speeding, the cop doesn't let me go and instead adds a ticket for tint, testpipes, etc. etc.

One day you will understand that "ONLY BREAK ONE LAW AT A TIME" is a great rule to live by, and will save your a$$ many times if you follow it.

I have never owned a civic (i'm sure you have) and i find your comment insulting, unthoughtful, and not helpful in the least. Come back when you have something useful to add to this thread.

Easy mojo, youd be surprised by how many high and mighty posters will jump all over you at the slightest mention of speeding (or condoning it). Say that you dont think its wrong and youd better duck.

I see where youre coming from, but am not sure if I agree... I have had the most luck getting out of speeding tickets when I did have something else (minor) in violation. For example, when I have been stopped but had an expired insurance card, registration, tail light out, etc, I normally get a ticket for that rather than for the speeding. Its more work (get it in writing that the insur/reg was valid, replace the tail light, etc, get it signed off on, get the ticket waived and pay a $7 fee), but a lot better than a couple hundred bucks and 3-4 pts on the license.

As for the speeding issue, I do not agree with reckless driving, do not agree with street racing under most conditions, but feel if you are on an empty highway, backroad (with no sideroads), etc and are only putting yourself at risk, its a whole nother ball game...

It's been over 5 years since my last infraction (I love that term ) and the reason is I learned WHERE I can speed. I am very lucky in that, I have MILES and MILES of roads that are not patroled regularly. But, I know where they patrol when they do. My wife, however, has NOT learned, LOL!
