What do you mean by "build the motor"
Curious, I see a lot of thread comparing SC or TT against building the motor up. Since I'm not 100% convinced that FI won't blow up my car (i like to drive with a heavy foot), what kind of mods are we talking about to simply build up the motor? I guess I'm "game" for some modifications that yield more power, Etc without all the extra headaches of FI. So what does this mean?
Cams? Head work? Chip?
Sorry if the question seems vague, but I am interested in comparing the $6k+ for a SC + installation vs. $3k -$4k of motor mods that might give that extra power that I'm looking for, without all the risk of running XX psi and coasting down the street one night with a blown motor.
I'm all ears for some successful advice for "building the motor".

N/A built motors can involve many different facets: Balancing and blueprinting, cams, head (as well as all associated springs, retainers, etc), higher compression pistons, decking the block, sleeving the block, stroking the engine. Depending upon the person's goal and budget, they may do a few or all many of the above listed changes. Generally all this can be applied to forced induction applications too, with the exception of pistons, where you'll want lower compression pistons than stock. Hopefully the above will be a good enough definition for you to get the idea.

Awesome info an links... Thanks much!
In reality, if I can spend $2k - $3k and get some more power, torque, and still retain as much low maintenance and stock smoothness... I'd do it.
I'm a street bike racer, and know that HP isn't what it's all about. I'm looking for USABLE power, that makes the car faster where I need it. I'm not interested in 1/4 mile times or top speed, just want some more acceleration and throttle response for some fun driving. Tires are too much damn money to burn off in a burnout, plus I'm too old to be showing off.
Really, how fun can a car be when you own a street bike? You can't do a wheelie down the freeway anyways... at least I don't think you can in a G35. That would be impressive!
Again, thanks for the tips... I'll have to look for some local shops that are G35 savy in Sacramento.

Everyone is hear to learn anyways.btw, 2-3K isn't enough for NA Power. It cost a lot more.
For FI, it's even worse. It's an addicting game of knowledge, $$, and patient.
