What Mods To Do With Fi ...

I am about to install a tn st kit on the car this week and wanted to know what would you suggest to also upgrade . I spoke to a couple of people and they say to just install the kit and thats that . I wanted to know if the kinetix plunum , small NOS shot before the turbo, headers, pulleys or anything else that might help out to install while I have the car apart ? Thanks in advance ..

Roll your fenders and go 305, 315s or wider!

+1 Power is useless without traction. Other than that I would go get a Tunable EMS like Utec/Emanage, TN reflash is good if you have a totally stock car. With Utec you can tune your car and squeeze every power you can get safely, bigger injector will also be good. You may want to upgrade your clutch/flywheel while you're there.

The best mod for F/I, or any car, is some driving schools. Power is no good if you don't know how to handle it. Where do you live? I can point you in the right direction if interested.

Bigger tires and a good tune is a must. Big brake kit if you like to do canyon runs, track racing, autocross, or anything like that. Motordyne 5/16 spacer is an awesome, cheap, easy addition to F/I as well. A good 3" exhaust is nice too. SVRTechnologies is developing a single 3" exhaust and if its anything like their dual 3" exhaust then its worth the wait.

I was heavy in the BMW scene for about 10 years and did the barber (ct) and bounderant (TX) also did a good dozen or so car guys schools at (VIR) so I am pretty good with rear wheel drive .. Im sitting on 275's in the rear it's a 04 6sp brembo sport pkg with 20K . This is my first import (not euro) and i actually picked the g35 over a e46 M3 so I have some extra cash to burn and like to do things once .. Thanks for the posts

Awesome! Good job on the driving schools. It amazes me how many people with high horsepower cars don't know how to drive them. i.e. all of the totaled Enzos in the past year.

Any good place in the east cost (close to NYC) for good driving school? I think I can hold my ground just on basic heel-toe when getting out of a corner but I want to go to the next level. does defensive driving course count?

Defensive driving does help, but the track days are where you really learn car control by pushing the car and you to their limits. Watkins Glen is somewhere in New York, and Old Bridge Township Raceway Park and New Jersey Motorsports Park (Thunderbolt Raceway) are both somewhere in Jersey. Don't know how close they are to NYC, but google them and see if they have any HPDE or Open Track events coming to those tracks. I will do a quick search for you to see if I find anything.

EDIT: Here's a link to the schedule at Watkins Glen. Everything marked Instructional/Non-Competitive is a HPDE or driving school...

i too am going t/n s/t soon and have in place slotted rotors, hawk hps pads, ss lines and 245/45/18s......

350znv......when you say a good tune, what can actually be "tuned" if ecu is sent out and comes back tuned?(refering to the t/n stage 1 kit)

loupeso......installing boost, a/f and oil pressure guages wouldn't hurt, that way, you can monitor them, otherwise how'd you know?

I am not familiar with the TN kits, but I would try and find a local tuner that can dyno tune it on your car. Alot of things can change the out of the box tunes, like altitude, other mods, etc.
