Hey guys. I recently bought my HKS Hi Power Exhaust (took six looong months from Japan) and had it put on. My problem is this, it sounds reeeal ricey since I have on the cat-less pipes. THe pipes are pretty much no brand. What i wanted to know was, is there any good quality test pipes out there that i can buy to get this damn ricey noise out? ANY INFO is greatly appreciated !

 

that noise is rasp. you can buy resonated test pipes that will REDUCE the rasp, not completely remove it. you can purchase high flow cats which will make rasp minimal. only way to have 0 rasp is to run the stock cats.

Labree resonated test pipes are supposed to be the best on the market.

BTW, it took 6 months to get HKS?!?!?!? I guess I got really lucky cuz I ordered it on a Monday and had it installed that same Saturday.

 

Sound clip is very raspy. I also have the HKS Ti with stock cats and it does not sound like that! I guess that's the trade off for more power...

 

A sound clip of the car under load would probably afford a better sound.

 

Also interested in sound under load, maybe driveby or from start or even better both. I have the same HKS exhaust and I have narrowed it down between your pipes and LaBree's. Thanks
