What oil filter are you using to be changing your oil every 12.5k miles? I've always thought that most filters won't even last as long as the oil...

Right now, I'm using AMSoil Full Synthetic ASL 5W-30 with their EaO12 Filter. The description for both the oild and filter said that they'd last 25K miles of which I'll only use them on for 10K miles.

And thanks to G35TX for confirmation that even after 6K miles of track & street, the blackstone Lab result is still very good for the Oil.

 

Am I the only one running the Amsoil series 3000? I spoke with the amsoil reps and they said that even though it is not listed on the spec sheet for the g35 that the s3k is one of the best oils I could run in the G. I've been running it since brand new w/ 23k on the clock now and my UOAs have always been fantastic - especially with those EAO filters Currently, I'm running the S3k for 7500 drains.. it just makes sense because I get my sedan up in the air at those intervals to rotate tires too and check everything else. Also, earlier in this thread said that Infiniti specs 5w30 and that's all he'd use.. well, he's not exactly correct.. Infiniti also specs 10w40 wt oil... and the only reason you won't find 5w40 or 0w30 wt oils in the manual, is because those have to be made synthetic .. also, the car comes from infiniti with 10w40 in it!

So... most recent oil change obviously bought AmsOil (why obviously? because as previously stated I've used Royal Purple, Mobile 1 and AmsOil - I'm staying with AmsOil... reasons - another thread)....

Anyway... you can’t buy the stuff unless it's from a rep or at select NAPA stores... so I go to the NAPA that sells it (not even the one closest to me, 'cause they don’t have it) and wadda ya know an "AmsOil Dealer" is at the counter! I'm standing in line with my basket of 5 quarts 5W30 and I tell the cashier "hey the AmsOil rep is here, do I get a discount?"... of course they are too busy to acknowledge - but he (sales rep) glances, smiles and says "good choice"... I told him, "yep, I've tried 'em all and this is the best"...

To make a long story longer... as he finishes his sales BS and walks by me I tell the guy "I could promote your product better if I had a shirt"... he paused and said "I have some decals and 'stuff' in the truck if you can wait a couple of minutes"... No problem (I said)... paid for my oil... went outside and in 30 seconds they guy comes out and asked, "are you going to be here for a 'couple of minutes’?"... "yep" (I said, hoping I get the "stuff" and not just a decal... maybe "stuff" is a hat or something)...

the ****** phucker kept me there for 10 minutes!!!!! I bailed!

I love the motor oil though. And will keep using it. (Didn’t know what the hell I'd do with a sticker or hat anyway).
