Opinions on ethanol?

I for one hate that we have to use the way more expensive gas that actually leaves worse carbon deposits in our injectors, and we all know how good nissan injectors are!!!

but What are your opinions on ethanol? does anyone think its possible to make a higher octane ethanol blend for our cars?

i dont know if its possible or not i dont know the science on this, but i heard today that all cars have the ability to switch to even 100% ethanol with the addition of a certain part, but most auto makers eliminate or restrict the addition of that part so it cant be done by the consumer.
and the reason, they say it will eliminate the warranty because it will destroy some internal parts, yet the 60% ethanol made cars from detroit do nothave any different parts or any special coating just that part added...so it must be that detroit wants to make money off the cleaner running cars because its new..even though summer blend gas has this in it anyways?!!! sorry bastards!!

if Nissan had a part that enabled our cars to be able to run on say up to 100% ethanol, would you use it?

by the way, i know its cleaner burning so does that mean we can dump our useless cats? and what would the MPH be on something like that.

im watching the pole trials of the indy 500 right now (why because soccer isnt on, but i havnt checked the spanish channel yet!!) and they use 10% ethanol which i didnt know and they are going to 100% next year unless i heard that wrong. Do you think all motor sports should go to ethanol? since its useless running in circles!

and do you think if we went to say 85 ethanol like brazil, would the price be above $1.? i think so actually. its like designer jeans; the only thing that makes them designer is the price!

opinions!

ethanol blows; worse mileage, less power, more chance of grenading....pure ****.

If the cost of gas bothers you then get a better ****ing job.

It does give worse mileage and less power, but it doesn't have more of a chance of "grenading" because ethanol has a higher octane rating that gasoline, so its actually less likely to detonate, which is the reason that some races are switching to ethanol. Its cheaper to make a high octane gasoline, and is only slightly lower in power than gasoline due to the oxygen bonds within ethanol that can't be used. The oxygen content in ethanol is only a small fraction, and when blended with gasoline wil net a barely noticeable difference in power or mpg.

i make plenty, but the reason for going to ethanol for me is burning cleaner. like i said, if the octanes were equal and the power was the same, and the only thing you needed to do was make a modification to your car, would you go ethanol?

get a better job, what the fvck kind of answer is that?

regular unleaded gasoline has an octane rating of 87; E85 has an octane rating ranging from 100-105 making it a high performance fuel. Ford FFVs produce a 5% horsepower gain when using E85.

octane and power are two different things

i knnow that, the power is all relative. but i would love to use it actually..its cleaner, if the hp is better then al the better, but it would still depend on the tuning i would assume, and hell i bet people would drive more too, in fact they need to make jet fuel out of that stuff....we would all be showered in popcorn....little kids would be hanging out at the airport like crackheads ..mommie i wanna go see the airpwanes!!!

i think it would be a good idea!!
