I just used a floor jack and jackstands in the rear for the install. No lift necessary (although I wish I had one in my garage).

Oh JOY! FEDEX just showed up with my new HKS rear section from Chadd. I'm putting it on tomorrow morning. Will let all know the results.

Well, I installed the HKS today. I've only driven the car less than a mile, but WOW, what a sound. Kinda reminds me of the sound of a powerful sport bike like a Ducati. I'll let you know more tomorrow after a day with it.

So, I've had the HKS on for a day now. Did some highway, my normal commute and I had the windows open all the way home yesterday (approx. 22 miles). I am really impressed with the sound. It's just like a few others said on this forum. It's not "ricer" sounding but has a nice deep growl. Since I only changed the muffler (cat back), I do not notice any difference in power. The look is also excellent. I will take a photo once the rain stops here in the NE and I wash her.

It is a little louder at all speeds except when slowing down where you don't hear it at all, but it's such a sweet sound I don't care. It is NOT a droning sound. I had that once before and my son's 300ZX has a drone as well. This is just a nice growl. I don't know how else to explain. My opinion is you can't go wrong with this mod.

I second this, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in the sound of the HKS muffler (except the guy that was complaining a few months ago about his stock G being too loud).

Got my muffler and bracket to day in the mail from Chad. One small question....the bracket is slightly bent! The bend is not factory as the black paint is peeling off in the area of the bend. Has the bracket been bent to modify it for the 2006 application or has it been damaged. There is no way it was damaged during shipping because the box was in great shape and the muffler was undamaged.

No bending required for application on an '06. It must have been accidentally bent somewhere along the way. Can you just bend it back or is it seriously damaged?

I would just bend it back into place and then shoot some black spray paint on it and install it.

It is not seriously bent.... I will take your advise and bend it back into place. I will have to pay attention when bending it back so that it does not place the muffler at an angle.

Sounds good, bending it back will be much quicker than waiting on a new one if it isn't seriously damaged. That way you can start enjoying the new beautiful exhaust tone.

On the Riverside Infiniti website, the price for the HKS is the same as it was in July. Does Jason have better pricing?
