Nismo Style Rear Diffuser For G35 Coupe (** Carbon Fiber Or Fiber Glas **)
#46
Will the black gel coat peel off after some time considering the heat of the exhaust? What are the procedures if I want to paint it myself in satin black? A body shop quoted me $120 to paint it in satin black, anyone knows where I can paint it for a better price in SoCal?
Thanks

guys... for a cf diffuser $399 shipped is not bad at all. the reason that it is pricey vs. the fiberglass, is a) the obvious: cf is always more expensive than fiberglass, and b)the reason not many people know: there is a global cf shortage, due to the production of airbus a380's, the war, and the $hit with the oil. trust me on this as cf was like $40 a linear yard about 3 years ago, and now its about $60-$80. i was looking for some cf to build a chair i designed, and cf is so expensive nowadays that a similar chair i built 3 years back was about $700 worth of cf, and now its closer to $2000 to build today.

when you think about it... 400 is cheap..... get the fiberglass one and have a color match professional paint job done to it and your not to far off from the carbon fiber... unless you have the hookup on prep and paint work... id have to say a good body shop is going to charge at least 100+ bucks to take the time to prep+shoot a piece like that with a finish like the factory paint..
