So what/where was drilling needed? Can you take a pic of the inside of the trunklid, if possible.

I am sorry, it is too late for inside pics. Under the old trunk finisher, you drill 3 holes. Then there are 2 more on the outside of the finisher (since the new spoiler extends almost to the trunk edge). This mod should be considered permanent. Alternatively, I guess you could skip the outer two drill holes and get some double sided tape for added stabilility, if you want it to be reversable.
