Changing fog light bulbs
Re: Changing fog light bulbs
Just to add to the discussion. My Coupe came with the factory HID's & of course, the 9003 style Halogen bulb as the High / Fog. I recently, (around XMAS), replaced the 9003 bulbs with PIAA SuperPlasma GT's. I thought about it before I went with the PIAA's as it was about $100.00 (US) for the set of 2 bulbs, but the Super Plasma GT's were a fairly new bulb, newer than the regular Super Plasma's, so I decided to go for it, hoping the new bulb might be of a batter design. I have attached a pic of what they look like. They are MUCH brighter than the factory halogen for the High / Fog. The Super Plasma GT's have a bit of a purple / blue hue when in low or in our Coupe's implementation, "Fog light" mode, & a VERY bright 5000 K white light when in High beam, which in conjunction with the xenon's are REALLY throwing a lot of light. I am going on 3 months now with these bulbs in, & nothing has burned out, so, so far, so good on the 2 month PIAA burn outs that you hear often happens, & I have read this in other forums / posts as well. Ultimately we are preparing to enter March & I am still very pleased with how these bulbs look, especially in conjunction with the factory HID's, in both modes... Above is the photo I took of he PIAA's I installed....

Zaid,
I just put them on this afternoon..... I'm still getting use to them. Its too soon to formulate an opinion on them. I do initially like the contrast between the HID and the Ion Yellow. Seems like a lot of lights coming at you when I drive.....don't want my car too look like a UFO coming...... but we'll see how it goes.....

Re: Changing fog light bulbs
BlackM,
The yellow Ion Piaa's are gonna run you about $80-90 bucks a pair. They going to cost you a little more that the other series. Also, they only seem to come in 80w instead of the stock 55w, but I've been running them for 2 months now w/o a problem, so our wiring seems to be able to handle the extra wattage. Depending on the color of your car, if you have a darker car, such as DG, OB, etc.... I think the amber clearance and the amber side marker would look ok, but if you have a lighter car such as IP, BS, then I would go with the white clearance and a white sidemarker. Just my humble opinion though........ good luck.
