Tein coming out with a new coil-over?
I have read several posts with people talking about a new version of Tein's coil-overs.
Does anyone know what Tein is doing? Are they revising their entire coil-over line? I've heard that they have made improvements that will stop them from making the assorted noises that people complain about, so they would be desireable over the current models... probably.
Does anyone know when they plan to release the new models?

tein is just redoin their cs coilovers. they stopped makin them a while back and should be releasing the csII's here shortly. not sure what they improved on them though. the cs are the comfort ones that have a spring rate of 390 and have adjustable dampening. you can also get the edfc with them. im pretty sure that is the only one they are redoing for now. i will check more into it though if you want

I am most interested in the Basics, possibly the Flex, but not the CS. And I don't think I'm interested in the EDFC tuning. I would like to know for sure if the Basics are linear or progressive. I've heard people say either way, but the Tein site doesn't say.
You are the only person I know that has Tein Basics. Are you still happy with them?
yup sure am. rates are good for everyday driving and are great for curvy roads like the dragon. car felt pretty flat and sure footed when i was driving up there. i did have some understeer problems do to the wet roads and crappy t1r tires.

Did you ever put the sway bars you had on your car? They might help, but you really can't complain about sliding on wet roads...

Same here Sean. The only thing I know is that people generall like having them beyond that I do not know what to compare or look for.
you def want them to be adjustable.
the thicker the stronger/stiffer
hotchkis is one of the stiffest.
they are also hollow which will make them lighter compaired to solid bars.
holow bars are usully not as stiff as solid bars but their strength to weight ratio is much better

Stillen seem to be the most popular, although that doesn't really mean anything.
Hotchkis claims that their bars are hollow and light, but so does Stillen. Hotchkis advertises higher (stiffer) rates than Stillen does. Unfortunately Hotchkis spells Infiniti "Infinity" all over their site.
I'd be curious to see how much each of them weighs. I'd probably choose the lighter of the two... which might be a mistake.

i have the hotchkis ones and am very satisfied with them.
hotchkis was a major sponsor of zdayz this year. they had a tech sesion that i unfortunately was able to go to. they gave out 2 sway bar sets and a set of springs.
i tried to get stillen to let me be a reseller but they never responded to me. stillen wont let anyone run a groupbuy. one of their resellers tried to run one and then when they found out about it the shut it down.
hotchkis supports the community. they allow groupbuys for their products.
thats about all i know. if i were to buy again i would get either one of those and would probably get the hotchkis becuase of my past experiances
