Vacationing to FL, Need Recomendation from FGC!!

Hi FGC,

This is Khoa from the National G Club. I chat with Dan (SFLG35) often and mentioned I was going down to Florida for a vacation at the end of August. He said to post on the forum and other can give recomendation on the hot spots.

-I will be flying down to Ft. Myers on the 24th and staying in Naples.

1. Need recomendation as to good restaurants/bar/club or whatever places I should check out in Naples.

-25th I plan to drive down to Key West or as far as i can go and possibly head back to Miami(south beach) or stay in Key West for the night

2. Would you recomend I stay in Key West for the night or drive back to Miami?
3. Need recomendation as to good restaurants/bar/club or whatever places I should check out in Key West.

-26th will be spent in Miami and I will spend the night there and fly home from ft. Lauderdale on 27th.

4. Been to Miami before and love it, but I can definitely use some recomendation on all the hot spots.

Thank you all in advance for your help. If any of you come up to the DC/VA/MD area, do post in our forum and i can return the favor.

~Khoa

Khoa, where are you staying in Naples? I have never been there but I'm thinking about visiting there.

I second Coconut Grove. It's a nice place and the rooms aren't too expensive right now.

I'm stayin at Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. I think it's some resort that's beach front of very close. I wanted easy access to the water. It's like $125 a night. I think I will definitely check out Coconut Grove. Is that what it's called? like the town? I thought it was some sort of Restuarant at first.

BTW- Thank you for all the replies so far, please keep them coming.

He's not going to be withing 3 hours of Orlando.

Yes, Coconut Grove is a town. Nice places to stay that aren't too expensive (right now) are the Wyndham, Doubletree, and Sonesta Suites. Check out www.tripadvisor.com for hotel ratings and info.

I'll check out the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. Thanks for the tip.

I live in Naples and can probably help you with whatever you like. What kind of restaurant/bar/ place are you looking for? Nice choice on the hotel

Awesome. Well i'm only going to be there for Thursday from 1pm until Fri morning as I will be heading to Key West. I imagin I would do the beach while the sun is still up so in the evening I wouldn't mine a nice medium-up scale restaurant as long as it has a nice view. Food wise, we will eat just about anything, but would probably prefer something regional that we can't get else where. Nightlife, some nice dance club or bar would be fine. Thanks in advance.

Well Thursday night I'd definatly suggest going to Noodles on Pine Ridge. It's a good restaurant during the day but at night on Thursdays turns into a nice club/ladies night type atmosphere. Definatly a kind of dress to impress kind of deal. It's gonna be north of you.

As far as food if you want one of the best steaks I'm gonna suggest Chops which is on 5th Ave. I mean overally they have great food all around but as far as steaks go I haven't had to many in the country that are better.

naples isnt that hopping. i went there with a friend a few summers back while i was in college. all we really did was hit up all the different resorts and hotels looking for girls heh.

as for miami, the the grove is pretty nice. south beach is cool to say you did it. ft lauderdale seems to have died down a bit. like jose said, most people in that area go to the hard rock now.
