I wish I could have gone back to Anchorage to see Mt. McKinley and the Denali National Park...but I'm not complaining. How long is the sunshine there?

What settings were you running your Canon at?
It's a Canon SD550, so you can't exactly set everything manually like you do with SLRs. There is 3 different picture modes (auto, manual, scenes). I always leave it in manual and adjust the white balance and mess with the exposure.
The shutter speed for the night pictures was anywhere from 1-4 seconds. The ony thing I can't figure out is how to adjust the shutter speed during the day. It was tough catching any decent pictures when riding around a tour bus or in a train. So I had to go through every mode on the camera and find out what worked best.

The sunshine, well the whole summer has been rain and clouds. The pictures I got are from maybe the 3rd nicest day of summer and everything else has been dreary. It does beat dealing with the southern heat for now though.

Yeah, I guess we got lucky. In Seattle, on the days of boarding/unboarding, the weather was perfect. High 60s and dry! No rain at all... Ketchikan and Victoria had perfect weather as well, but the days in Juneau and Skagway and the days at sea were miserable.
