options on brake replacement
options on brake replacement
i'd like to replace the pads/rotors on my '05 sedan, since they are squealing every morning for the first few miles, and i think they proabably need replacing with 26k miles on them. i was wondering what the general feeling was on going with stock pads/rotors, or upgrading to something non-stock.
is there a cost benefit one way or the other?
and as far as performance, and noise reduction,(the infamous brake squeaking), i'm just looking for something that is quiet, fairly dustless, and is compatible with everyday city/highway driving.
also, do i go with just the fronts, or make it a full set deal?
just trying to see what makes sense, and any recommendations are appreciated.

You might need new front pads, but the rotors are probably OK. Your rear pads are probably fine too.
For pads, look to Axxis Deluxe pads. This place has about the cheapest prices. I bought a set for my sedan from there. http://www.importrp.com/pbr.html
You can upgrade the rotors if you want a little more style, but it's not necessary. Chucky got a nice set of front and rear slotted and drilled Centric rotors off of Ebay. PM him for the seller. They appear to be excellent rotors for a good price. Another option would be to PM Daniel (SFLG35) to get a price on some Rotora replacement rotors.
Be aware that the rotors on 03 - 04 sedans and coupes are a little smaller than the 05's.
