dash kit for double din head unit
has anyone in here bought the dash kit to allow you to install a double din head unit?? I'm thinkin about putting a kenwood dvd player in its place and am wondering if that will cause any problems with the blue tooth features? Also where is the best place to get the new kit? TIA

I don't know where the bluetooth circuitry is in an '06. If it's in the head unit, that would make it more difficult... you might have to hide the old head unit under the dash... or...

I got my DD kit from Grubbs. http://www.grubbsperformance.com/Mer...doubledinCoupe
You need the DD finisher and the AC controller.
I don't know about the OEM Bluetooth, but Kenwood has a Bluetooth hands-free unit coming out soon that you can add to your new head unit. It's KCA-BT100. It's $199 from Crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-c3jnSsP...100&i=113BT100 So you wouldn't need the OEM Bluetooth.
I'm thinking about getting this for my audio system.

It's supposed to come out this week or next. You can pre-order them on Ebay for about $160.
The link should be fixed now.

yeh its fixed
but does kenwood make and adapter to have more of those kind of inputs. mine only has one and im using that for the sirius and cd changer. the sirius has and input to accept the cd changer as a slave device so i can use both.
the only think i dont like about kenwood is their damn site you cant find info on any past parts even if you have the exact part number. its such a pain to navigate

Dan, according to the description on the Crutchfield page:
» Bluetooth® interface adapter for Kenwood stereos
» offers wireless connection between Kenwood car stereo and Bluetooth-compatible cell phone
» send and receive calls with the stereo's controls
» pass-through port lets you keep your Kenwood CD changer
» handles up to five different phones
So it looks like you can pass the changer and sirius through the Bluetooth unit. I have the same issue as you.
HD Radio seems to be a gimmick to compete with satellite radio and CD's.
