Quote: Granted the run itself is based on the 350z, but the whole thing is based on a charity.... a charity! I mean come on, they should be trying to get as many people as possible involved to raise money, not just sit and bicker about why they shouldn't let people participate.

Yeah I was feeling pretty stoked about the olive branch and then started looikng into helping with finding sponsors when BAM!! that snobbish BS started showing up in the sponsorship info page.

Man talk about taking the wind out of your sails and as a sedan driver i can only imagine how aghast they will be when i ride up.

I love TFT's too and give big to them every year.

Totally bummed now!

Jose, it won't be like that at all. This event is being hosted by the 350Z club of South Florida...who were one of the clubs that wanted us to be at ZFest.

Come do it. You can stay at my place again...but we won't able to go crazy since it's my parents house.

Look we were invited by the President of the 350Z Club of Florida and we are a sponsor of this event. There are always going to be a few that are going to have other opinions. If your "feelings" are hurt by their posts then don't go. We were officially invited and it's for charity... good enough for me.

+1

I don't really care about their complaints, but it just doesn't paint all that great of a picture about some of their club's members.

Quote: Just applied my 20th +/- tonight. I can't wait until I graduate to a orbital or a porter cable. The car will really look good then!

Craig, can I throw you some tickets for the map, in advance?
Hahaha. You'll have to pry it out of my cold, lifeless hands!

Exactly. The people that actually disagreed with us allowing G35's to be involved were a select few opinionated members. This was discussed and decided upon by our clubs officers, and that small thread was the extent of the debate.

I guarantee that 99% of our club was completely totally supportive of the idea (and we only have slightly over 100 members).

Foo_G, you're reading into this wayy too much. It's all good!

I appreciate the back story and the feel good stuff and all but have ti disagree with you on how much I m reading in to it.The readers opinions were not expected and raised concern to a level that has made me 2nd guess.

Look I am a rather philanthropic fellow especially for the kids. 25 years ago my household total qualified for something like TFT's. My mother worked hard to support us and all to often it didnt work out well. I am where I am today becasue my mother did all she could do to make it and at the same time teach us about charity and humanity.

The squelching members seem ot have missed that this event is all about that. Honestly I am sort of embarassed for them.

Any rate I PM;d someone on the board regarding the sponsorship committee. I am in a lot of place and do not mind asking for their participation. because I would like to see that these kids do not get left behind and have to deal with peer pressure like I have observed

Well lets clear the decks of this mess and lets keep the Drive for THE RUN going.

Does you club have enough members out up there looking for sponsors? I am still up to the task and highly motivated.

Here's our official The Run Sponsorship Letter in PDF format. I think it should answer all your questions about event sponsorship.

http://www.350zclubofflorida.com/The...06Sponsors.pdf

As you can see by our current sponsor list, we have a LOT of gold level sponsors this year. I've got to squeeze all of the gold level sponsors on the t-shirt so its going to a piece of the pie type thing.

Yeah I have reviewed that doc already. I am curious as to whether or not you guys want G Club members soliciting for sponsors for this event

Thanks

Come on everyone. Drop the 350Z vs. G35 talk. This event will have no comparison to ZFest. This event WILL be fun!

Yes, please COMPLETELY disregard the negative views that were mentioned within that link.

I am sure it was due to some sort of tunnel vision (we've all been there at one point) and certainly was NOT the the view shared by the majority.

I WANT to see all of you out there! I use to pimp a superblack G from time to time, long before I got my Z. So you guys are near and dear.

Certainly, the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. Like you mentioned, it all goes to a good cause. I've been trying to get everyone I know to distribute the sponsorship letters. That should have everything they need to know about becoming an event sponsor.
