Little help Needed.

So my cars steering is off. When i go around a bend and i correct the steering the car seems like it wants to over correct in the other direction and the steering wheel seems like it wants to sway from left to right. I got it aligned the first time and the caster was out of spec it was sitting at 9.5 and i think stock spec is 8.5. But i dont think the caster would cause this problem. I took it back to them and they didnt put it on the machine they just checked to see if everything was tightened down. Then they told me it might be my Vehicle Assited Steering. That was the first time i heard of it.

So Here is the question. If i turn off the VDC will this turn off the VAS as well because then i can narrow it down to see if it is the VAS or not. If not ill take that **** back and tell then to align it again.

From what i know the whole system has like four components VDC, ABS, VAS, and one other.

Can anyone shine any light on the issue.

sounds like the problem is between the seat and the steering wheel.

im pretty sure VDC and VAS is what gets turned off when VDC is turned off.

But I know when my TOE was was out of wack i would get a horrible vibration through turns but the car never did any random corrections due to it. Therefore, I doubt its an alignment problem.

hehe

WTF lol Vehicle Assited Steering?!

Is that just a fancy word for a steering wheel? Like the Human Assited Stopping Mechanism, or brake pedal...

i think its when the wheels on the g turn when you turn the steering wheel. thats just fxcking amazing technology right there. pretty soon they might make VAW - where the windows on the car go down when you press a button!

haha...no VAS is a real feature on our cars...

essentially its job if u lose control is to get the car going in the direction ur steering wheel is pointing. I know that sounds like what any car would do but its not. If you have ever lost control, over corrected, then over corrected the other way and went into a spin you would be glad that the VAS keeps you from needing to correct (although its usually habbit in those situations)

Shermie brought his car over yesterday for me to test drive. He walks in the door and hands me the printout from the alignment and the first thing I notice is that they used the sedan specs to align his car. So I think he is back there right now getting it re-aligned... again!

It's true... took me about oh I would say 2 seconds to notice it was a Sedan set-up. It said it across the top of the page in big bold letters... and in english.
