Adrian, go to the risk management office for the particular city it occured in. The same thing happened to me in Clearwater a couple of years ago. I had pics of how the pot hole was hidden, pics of the poor lighting in the area, and pics of my bent rim. The office didn't even care about my "evidence", once I told them the location of the hole they said they knew about it and that crews were already called to fix the hole. They just asked me for a receipt of what the price of one wheel was and they cut me a check. It was almost kind of scary how easy it was.

But on the other hand, expect them to tell you that no one has notified them of the pothole yet and that unless someone did previously notify them, they aren't responsible. That's what FDOT did with me about a pothole on I-95.

You should ask them first if anyone has notified them of the pothole on I95 and that you were calling to make sure it was taken care of before there was an accident then i would recall ask the same question in a different format and if they answer yes then say you bent your rim.

That's exactly what I did. No one had reported it and when I told them I bent my rim, they said sorry, but they needed to be notified first.

In Ft Laud you can go to Goodroads to repair wheels. They are under new management and might be under the name G-Roads.
