I met Alex Cink (sp?) last week at a meeting and dropped an "f-bomb". My boss wasn't too happy, but her office backed off of me...

They wanted to interview her but she didnt want to go on. She said she would give an interview when the legislation passes but she didnt want to say anything too early before anything was passed. She is going to give an interview after legislation passes and they know exactly what law makers are going to do about Insurance in the state of FL.

What they are going to do? They are probably going to do something completely retarded that will cost us taxpayers money.

Why should I pay for everyone else's insurance woes because they can't afford to insure something? This is the problem when you legislate risk: it never works. The free market determines the price of risk and if you want it covered, you pay. Competion keeps prices lower because people will pay to avert risk. It's the lower income, elderly types and the people floating in the million dollar home bracket that we are all gonna be stuck paying for.

Simply retarded...

From what i heard I think this is what they are looking at. The problem you run in to is this. If the state tells insurance companies to lower the insurance rates every carrier will leave the state of Florida and no one will have Home insurance (Big Problem) so i dont think they will do that at least i hope they wont. The other solution is dib into other tax sources and subsidize the insurance companies for the lose they had during the huricane season then the insurance companies drop their rates and stay in the state of Florida. The problem with that is Everyone is paying for the people that had claims on their homes when the storms hit. RETARDED. The last option is live with the high rates and in time they will go back down, We hope, but like the story said that impacts local businiess and growth and will tempt them to move to other states. Unless the come up with a plan that works and makes sense non of thes options is very good IMHO.

I think the second option is going to be the one that winds up happening IMHO bc i dont even think the govenor can legally do the first. So the taxpayers are going to wind up paying for everthing. Oh and by the way Christ received 5 mill. plus from insurance Lobbiest during his campaign I wonder who's side he is going to be on. Just a little jab there.
