hey guys its mike, i just changed my screen name from Insanity187.

I got a new set of tires for the g since the stock ones were right up to 20k miles, and im not exactly sure how pricing works for mounting and balancing, so i checked out a few places. I went to discount tire on 436 & colonial, and they quoted me 251.00 dollars to mount and balance 4 new tires on stock rims?!! i couldn't believe it at first..but then i told them how big 10 tires was gonna charge me less. They ended up sort-of price matching at 164.00.

is this kind of price normal? either way i still had to do it because my rear tires were extremely bald. the guys where were very friendly too.

on a side note, the guy said if i ordered the tires from discount tire, it only would have been $11.00 to do each tire

ive seen anywhere from $25-35 per tire to dismount and mount. so thats anywhere $100-140 which is still a bit less than what you're getting charged. but yes, they do overcharge you for bringing in your own tires.

you shouldnt ever be charged over $100 to mount and balance 4 tires whether you bought the tires at the said location or not.

I'd recommend 3D Tire on Kennedy Blvd, just west of Orlando Infiniti. They mount tires from Tirerack.com for $15 each. They're good guys. Call Mario and tell him Sean Gilley sent you and see if he can hook you up. 407-875-3399 Tell him you'll buy your next set through them.

Call them and see what they can do. They'll be kind to your rims, unlike other places. I've been there many times and have sent others there.

mount and balance is one thing but if they gotta rip off the old tires and mount 4 new ones then I can understand approx 40-45 a wheel

I pay ~$75-80 to dismount, remount and balance my 20" tires when I have them swapped from side to side.

If you bought the tires from Discount everything SHOULD be included in the price! That's why their in store price seems higher then online places. Because the price includes dismounting, mounting, and lifetime balance.

if you mount your tires before sunday it'd better be for a good reason. Like Ian said, join the caravan to the lakeland meet. There's been quite a few changes to everyones cars you should check it out.

Wow, that's hard to believe.............!
Remind me to never have a flat in Flordia! The cost of mounting tires has
gone up in my area too, but the prices in Flordia are obscene. I used to pay
$40 for all four and now it went up to $48 to mount and balance four wheels
and tires. Plus these guys are "very" carefull with my rims which counts for
a lot. WTF can they do for $165......wash..lube..tuneup?
