woudl the FGC be interested in a private Drag Day at Moroso?
I was talking to Moroso Motorsports PArk about renting out the dragstrip for a Saturday. The price is very reasonable and we'd have full access to the strip from 9AM until 4PM.
maybe one of the BODs would like to PM or call me and I will fill them in on the details.

Here's the basic info:
Rent the track for pivate use 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on a saturday
Insurance for the track event
Emergency Rescue Crew on site
(Insurance and Rescue are needed if we want to be able to run both lanes at the same time, which I'm sure we do)
Admission for up to 50 cars (50 drivers + up to 4 "crew" members for each vehicle)
Gas Pumps and Air Pumps would be open for use. (of course, you have to pay for gas.)
I am awaiting the catering info, if that is soemthing that is desired.
All for $3000
I don't know if this is something the FGC wants to take part in. (Chuck get your voicemail.) I would hope so. The best way might be for the FGC to take payments via paypal (or similar). at $75 per car, we'd need 40 cars to be at the break even point. I don't know how the club operates, though.....with some corporate sponsors, we could lower the price per car, but I don't know if that would affect the rental rates of the track.
We would have to pay for the track up front, so we'd really need to know who is coming. I would be willing to pay upwards of $75 - $100 per car. I am sick of going to the track only to sit around all night and only get 2 runs in. BTW, normal test and tune rates are $20 for the wednesday and friday night events.
Keep it coming!!!

yes but you can get sponsorships like Boosted concepts........i.e. Boosted concepts donates to a not for profit i.e. FGC. and helps reduce the price per driver at the same time Boosted concepts gets a tax right off.

the fgc cannot pay for anything race related or our insurance would not cover us if something happened. its the same reason why we couldnt make jason's event happen at gainsville a long time ago, and why we couldnt do anything for jeremy's road race day at gainsville.
maybe there is a chance of a waiver but i doubt that. that would have to be something chuck talks with the insurance company about.
