Rear brake pad replacement cost?

I recently had my car in for service at Orlando Infiniti and they said my rear brake pads were running low at 4/32nds. Fronts were still good at 6/32nds. They told me the rear brake service was $270 and that included pads for $80. I can get the pads through a vendor on this site for $30 plus shipping. My question is, is this amount for the service overpriced? For those who have had their rear brakes replaced in Florida, what have you paid? I have an 05 coupe without Brembos. Thanks again for the help.

I agree, if someone has a different shop in Orlando that they recommend or even another dealer close by (Tampa perhaps). Changing them myself is not an option since I do not have the tools or skill to do that.

I did it in my garage and took the rotors to PepBoys to be turned for $6 each. It's really not difficult. You need a 19mm socket, a 12 mm socket, a ratchet, and a C-clamp to press the pistons back into the calipers.

I learned the hard way the first time around when I brought the G in for some warranty work. They told me the front pads needed replacing for $270 including new pads and rotors resurfaced. Now I've ordered a set of Hawk HPS pads for $68 (from AutoAnything) to replace the fronts, and I plan to have my friend help install them as soon as they arrive.

Do you know what he charges? I plan on having the pads purchased already so all that will need to be done is resurface rotors if needed and then install pads on just the rear. Thanks again,

Do it yourself. I just did all 4 corners this past weekend on my car. Easy job.

Go elsewhere if you don't DIY. The price is actually $190 if you bring your own pads and this is for rear ONLY? I paid $200 here for all 4 pads installed, a complete suspension swap, and mounting/ balancing new tires and rims.

Replacing them myself is not an option. If someone would like to volunteer to replace them for me and I will throw them some money on the side then I will consider it, but i just am not able to do it myself.

Darnelled- wehre did you get yours replaced at? Orlando Infiniti?

If anyone knows of local shops in Orlando that will do it let me know. I contacted performance factory and he said they cannot resurface my rotors but that I could buy new pads and rotors and they would install those.

You can get them resurfaced at Pep Boys or any other brake shop.

Call PepBoys and see how much they would charge.
