Need help Wet Sanding.
So I am trying to take off the spray on tint I put on my tail lights a couple of weeks back and I started using finger nail polish remover. It worked some what but there was still a lot of residue form the tint on the lights and parts of the plastic turned whiteand you could see minor scratchs. So I decided to start wet sanding it I started with 600 grit to 800 to 1000 to 1500 then 2000. Then I used a rubbing compound from Mcguires and polished it with Zaino. It turned out really good but still not good enough for my taste. Im thinking that i need to futher sand it with 2500 then 3000 then 3500 and again with rubbing compound and another coat of Zaino. I looked all over does anyone know where I can pick up 2500,3000,3500 sand paper. I have been to Discount Auto and they only go up to 2000. I was thinking Pepboys or Lowes, anyone have any ideas.
thank you...will post pics when done.

You're going to need some mecahnical assistance. I use a 5 inch polishing bonnet and drill adapter for that stuff. It will work better than doing it by hand. Home Depot/Lowes has them.
So you're slapping chuck in the face by removing his work. He's not going to like that.

No he knew i was going to remove it. It was flaking off already. I already started sanding and like I said it doesnt look too bad but just need some finishing up so it looks nice and glossy. Ill call you inthe morining Sean.
no it goes higher but it gets harder to find as you go up....I tried 3m rubbing compound, Mcguires and Zaino. But still not a glass finish. It's not bad but ifyou getup close you can see some scratch marks. I know for a fact there is 6k grit sand paper its like a plastic sheet and it is smooth as marble. My father in law told me toothpaste but I want to stay away from that aswell.

you cannot use chemical removers on clear plastics...they will usually haze the plastic or melt it entirely. 2k is fine enough, but you will need to use a buffer along with a rubbing comound to get it back to satisfactory condition. after compounding, try plasastic polish.
