I've heard that they work spectacularly. My fear is that they will be outlawed.

I'm not even sure on the current legal status of radar detectors. I know people have been trying to have them outlawed in Florida.

blinder is a great company but you need to modify th grill a bit to have the sensors sit right. I am still thinking of getting this down the road great especially when they pay for them self

Do you guys see a lot of laser around? I live in Brevard, and travel quite frequently between here, Orlando, Ocala, and down to Palm Beach County. Over the last 3 years with my detector, I have only once picked up laser, the rest of the time it was good ole radar. The time it was laser was somewhere near Stuart, IIRQ, and he was standing along a bridge, with some cycle coppers down the road a bit. Fortunately, I think I picked up some scatter from another car, as I was at least 15 over the limit, and no problems.

I had the Escort 8500 with shifter laser jammer, It worked great but the 8500 went bad after 17 months. The shifter sends an error to the gun.

My first and only ticket in the G was a stupid Laser in a speed trap. V1 didn't help in this situation.

I will be investing in the Blinder M20, Laser veil coating for my headlights, and a Anti Laser & Photo Radar License Plate Cover Shield for the rear plate.

Search youtube, and you'll find all kinds of reviews and tests with these methods.

The laser veil kit does about 10 cars or so, so if anyone wants to chip in we can all order one kit, and have a laser veil headlight meet/ hahah.. Jon.

Let me know if you do, I'm interested. If you get the Plate Cover, get the 2pc. option and save for both of us. Let's see if we can't get some kind of GB deal for the Blinder. Now all I need is a deal on the Valentine or something else like the Bel RX75Plus and get rid of my regular radar detector.

keep in mind that your radar/laser detector has a very small chance of picking up a LIDAR or LASER gun in the 1st place. When a laser "beam" gets to your car, it is less then 18" wide, so unless it hits within 18" of where your detector is mounted, your not going to pick it up. If yours is mounted at the top of your windshield and he shoots for the bottom, your done. Also the laser has little reflectivity like the radar, so it is not apt to bounce around off other cars to give you warning. "If" it goes of, he's got you.

With radar the pulse can be bigger the 6' wide when it gets to you and has lots of reflectivity which makes you able to pick it up easier and when your not even being targeted......

Just trying to reason with why you see radar more often with your detector then laser.....

This is interesting. I just purchased a Beltronics STi Driver radar dectector. Been doing a lot of research over the past two weeks and i picked it over the valentine 1, even though the V1 was slightly rated at better picking up the laser signal. The STi did pick it up at a longer range overall though.

Don't all these radar and laser guns emit a signal when they are ON that these high end radar detectors can pick up even before it is pointed your way? At least they make it seem that way by what i read. I made a purchase thinking it might save me from some situations like that. TIA
