What to do in Jax on Labor Day Weekend?
I'm going to be driving up to Jacksonville August 27 - September 1 to stay with my sister and brother-in-law for Labor Day Weekend. Just wondering if anything is going on in the area during that time. Maybe some of the locals can chime in and give me some ideas. Thanks
what are you looking for?
jax and atlantic beach have a lot of restaurants and bars right near the water that are chill for hanging out during the day or night. town center mall is a really nice outdoor mall that is growing bigger every day. you can tour the a-b brewery up on the north side. downtown has the landing with shops/restaurants.
ill b on midnight shift that weekend but we can probably still do a small g meet if you're interested.

I'm down for whatever. I'm pretty sure Saturday we're playing golf, but other than that I have nothing else planned. If a mini g meet does materialize that would be cool but if not thanks for the heads up on things to do.
Ah, a Sarasota dude coming to Jax. I just did the opposite this past weekend. The beach w0ady suggested is pretty fun, but depends on where you are staying. After several beverages, you want to be careful about driving across town (which is 30-45 minutes here, as opposed to SRQ).
River City Brewing and the Landing downtown are pretty fun, depending on what kind of scene you want (Think Daquiri Deck, but less beachy- Sneakers at the beach provides a similar feel).
Can always do water-related stuff to sober up. www.kayakamelia is pretty cool for reasonable kayak rentals, $35 for half day. Fishing off the piers is something different if you are into that.
Nice places to eat downtown area- BB's and Bistro Aix. This is where you would want to go to eat a nice meal, "see" people, and enjoy a nice martini.
Good luck and enjoy your trip. Where is a good bar/club to hit next time I go to SRQ?
