Tampa - Gainesville Caravan August 16th
Figured I'd start a thread for everyone wanting to caravan from the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area to Gainesville. This will clear up w0ady's main thread a bit.
As I mentioned in the main thread, the Z guys want to meet up at a Sweet Tomatoes Parking lot 10017 Adamo Dr. in Brandon. How does that sound? That might mean a bit of backtracking for some of you guys.
I looked up the rest area and think the one we stopped at mile 278 Pasco/7. It's link #70241 on this web page. It looks like a North-bound only rest area.
I'm kind of leaning towards meeting up at the rest area and then connecting with the Z guys when to drive past. I'd rather eliminate any back-tracking if possible. Sound good to you guys?

I would prefer not to have to back track myself as well. I don't care either way though. As I have said before just let me know where and when and Ill be there. If we want to meet at the rest area at 8:30 or even 9 being the Z guys will probably not leave there till I would say 8:45 at the earliest that is cool by me.
Whats the call?

Several members live in North Tampa and don't want to backtrack down to Brandon. I don't blame them. Looks like the first rest stop on I-75 is the best place to meet.
The meet starts at 11am and it takes two hours to get there, so we should probably meet at 8:30am.
I don't have the specific directions for the rest area were we plan to meet. It will be the first rest area North of the I-275 and I-75 junction. Just drive North on I-275. After you join I-75, pull into the next rest area on the right.
I'll try to find some better information on the rest area before Saturday morning. If any of you find some better information, please post it here.
Since the actual location of this caravar meeting spot hasn't been used before, this will be a good time to print out the FGC Cell Phone Number List in the Members Only area.

Good time to start a sign-up list for the Tampa caravan.
