Laps For A Cause @ Central Florida Road Course

I found out about this event yesterday and decided to go today. It was a fundraiser hosted by Florida Hospital for cancer patients. There was a decent turn out. They had the road course open and also the 1/8 mile. I left the G Coupe at home and took the M35 Sport out to run. I just want to let everybody know that I was representing for Infiniti's by setting the fastest lap of the day with a 1:01.897. I beat out a Saleen Mustang and a Porsche Cayman by 2/10 of a second. Again I had a great time and I would definitely like to have one of our weekly meets out there. I talked to the owner and he said it would be cool. I only got a couple of pics but I'm gonna try to download some from the photographer's website that was there. Here's a pic of the shirt I won for fastest lap........ pretty corny.

no, I think most everybody was stock. there were a few that had some work in the engine but they were not running as quick. but the porsche was stock and i dont think the saleen had work done. i ran my M almost 3 sec quicker than my coupe, even with the new tighter first turn. it might be the tires though. good times.

Congrats, Greg, on beating out the porche and saleen with your M sedan!

Have you ever been to the Friday night crooked drag events they have there?

I would like to come out and spectate their road course event they have on Weds. nights. How often do you go?

Maybe we could get a bunch of people to come out next week to watch/race as a meet...

Ian, I don't know if you saw my other post but I talked to the owner and he said he would open the track an hour earlier if we wanted to have our meet there on the normal wednesday nights since that is the day they do open track anyway. We would still have to pay the fees for driving or as a spectator but we would be able to run just by ourselves for an hour until they open for regular business and we can stay the full time from 7pm-11pm. I've been to the crooked drags only once and the open track twice. To me I prefer the open track because it's much more fun and you get to run 4 or 5 laps not just 30 sec or so crooked drag. They also do a 1/8 mile but I think the G is much better suited as a road car.
I'm not going to be able to make it this week because I'm gonna be out of town but I would definitely like to set something up for the following week. I have the coordinators e-mail so if we can expect a decent turn out I will shoot her an e-mail to arrange for the meet. Let me know what you think.

P.S.- Ian, did you get a chance to see the Pacquiao fight?!

Hey sorry i didnt reply to your earlier posts. Since we are doing our wednesday night meets every 2 weeks, the earliest we can do it would be 3 weeks from now. I think that maybe 5 weeks from now would be more realistic.

That doesnt mean that im opposed to swinging by one of these days and checking out the place to make better plans.
