headers and test pipes
If you plan on staying normally aspirated and want to build a pretty stout engine, headers are required. The popular thinking is that headers don't make a difference... or that they aren't worth the expense of installing them... but they do make a difference. I have Crawford headers with the jet-hot coating.
Test pipes probably make a few more horsepower than high flow cats. The problem is that they really smell bad... They stink actually... It's your choice... I have Crawford HFCs and like them, but I might get different HFCs if I had it to do over again.

stillen race pipes FTW.
yeah they smell but will not rasp!
or get the long tube headers and no cat or test pipe necessary.
pretty sure long tube headers showed best gains on vq's.
