Lauren and I set a date
Hey, everyone. Just letting you all know Lauren and I finally set a wedding date today. It's going to be at the East Lake Woodlands Country Club, here in Oldsmar, on March 14, 2010.
I wish I could invite most of you, but times are tough. My parents are writing us a $5k check to help out, but we need to come up with the other $10k. If money wasn't an issue, I'd provide a special section for FGC members, haha.

Wonderful news, Ryan!! I'm sad that I don't get to see Lauren every Thursday now, but I have a feeling you two are doing great (and I'm sure she doesn't miss Gators
)! Hope to see you guys soon!
Take care and best of luck!

Congratulations to you, Bud! It's been a long time in coming. With the date finally set, you can now set your doomsday clock.
Any ideas what the best man has in mind for your bachelor party? I'm assuming the best man will be your brother?

Thanks, everyone!
Lets see... I guess I'll type the whole story.
Lauren has never been to NY, but has always wanted to go. We were sitting on my computer in mid Decemeber 2008 and I was telling her she should buy a camera. She said she didn't want to spend any money on herself since it was so close to Christmas. I asked her if she would buy a camera if we went to NY. She said yes, but we aren't going to NY. So I pulled up our NY itinerary and she started crying...the first time I've seen her cry happy tears in 4 1/2 yrs.
I had bought the ring the week prior to booking the NY trip. I had no clue how I wanted to propse. Did I want to do it as soon as we got there so we could enjoy our 5 days in NY as an engaged couple? Or did I want to do it on Christmas, since it's her favorite holiday?
Well, Christmas Eve, we go to the Guggenheim Museum to see the Van Gogh exhibit. Lauren loves art. Well, after waiting in line for 10 minutes, they announce the exhibit is sold out. She almost starts crying because she was so upset... It was raining outside on Christmas Eve and the museum would have been a nice way to spend the day dry. So we left and shopped on 5th Ave.
We go to Juicy Couture (her favorite store) and we were there for about an hour. She bought a purse and a few other things. She has always wanted this engagement ring necklace from there, but I always said how ugly it was and she shouldn't buy it.

What she didn't know is that I bought the necklace and put the real engagement ring on it and had it wrapped up before we left for NY. So each time you pick an item at the Juicy Couture store, the store associate places it behind the cash register with your name on it. So as she was shopping, I went to the cash register and had them place the ring with her things. We go to check out and she saw the wrapped gift and asked when she could open it. I told her that since it was Christmas Eve, she would have to open it under a tree.
So we left the store and head to Rockefeller Center. They had a long display infront of the building with plants, lights, etc. We saw professional photographers out there and I asked if she wanted to get some pictures taken. She says yes... So we walk up to the photographer and I let him know I was goign to propose. So we get into the focus of the camera and the cameraman is trying to take pictures, while I told Lauren to open her gift. She's getting annoyed because she just wanted to open the gift...it was funny. As soon as she opened the gift and saw the ring, her eyes lit up and I got down on one knee. She said yes, the cameraman's assistant yelled it out, and a crowd of people were clapping and cheering.
8 months later, we set a date. The End...

We've been together for 5 years, with many breakups along the way. I had many chances with other girls and never took FULL advantage of the opportunity. That's what made me realize she was the one.
