Saw this on 350zCOF .....

Of all the things we do while driving, we really shouldn't.... eat, text, talk on the phone, put on make up (well, for me, and maybe some of the guys on here too haha jk).

Wow, that was more graphic than I was expecting... Interesting though... very lifelike...

I saw a guy driving down the road with a cell on the middle of the steering wheel... He was texting with his thumbs... I would have hit the horn, but I was afraid he would spasm and hit me...

Good post, Mark...

Back in the day before I went with a PDA phone. I used to have a samsung phone that could do voice to text. It was the handiest phone I had ever had. It was sometimes slow in deciphering the spoken words but so long as you spoke slow it worked fairly well. I lost that phone when I had attended the track event in Gainvesville a long time ago.

I never understood why phone manufacturers never further developed that tech.

That video definitely had a strong message to it. I never text while driving. It's just better to call a person and put them on speaker phone if i'm driving in my opinion.

calling a person has almost the same effect as texting. the whole point is that it distracts you from the road. some people just dont have the awareness for driving normally, let alone doing other stuff at the same time.

i saw this vid too and almost lost it. Whatever happened to just using a headset and have both hands available? either way, I usually wait till i'm at a red light to text or till i'm out of the car. Great message...

Yeah I've seen this video floating around, I'm glad it's getting as much exposure as it is. Ever since I started riding the motorcycle as my DD I've been more paranoid of other drivers and their bad driving techniques.

like i said, its not just the hands part. the conversation is the actual problem that distracts a driver from concentrating on the road - hands free or not.

I know on mythbusters they proved that driving while talking on the phone is just as dangerous as driving while intoxicated.
