Yeah it's sad... I have to granny it into 5th.
It grinds from 4th to 5th, so I used to skip 5th but now it grinds from 4th to 6th as well. So now I have to go 4th to neutral, let the RPMs drop all the way below 1k, then shift into 5th. But once it's in 5th it will go into 6th easy.
Bobby at S&R suggested I use GM Synchromesh so I'm hoping that will help.

I had my transmission replaced right before my car went out of warranty. The good news was that it was free... the bad news was that installing the new transmission pinched the knock sensor cable and I had to take half my engine apart to replace it.
