I gave in. My gas tank only fills up half way then causes the nozzle to click (alerting me that its full) and it takes me about 30 min to fill up because i have to keep pulling the nozzle. Ive dealt with this for about a year now and ive finally given in. I have to get it taken care of.... i just hope they dont **** up my car!

I am already ready for them to say "ive never heard of this problem before" and i have found a few forums where ppl have had the same problem...

hmm lemme know if they fix it. it happens to me at gate gas stations. i just pull the nozzle out a little bit and listen so it doesn't overflow. at chevron, shell, etc. it doesn't give me a problem. keep us posted cuz i'm sure we're not the only one's around here.

It happens to me at every gas station i go to. Usually pulling it out and knowing that it takes 15-16 gallons usually works... but its too much of a hassle and has stopped working recently.. :-/

common problem. happens to me rarely on the 37 and used to occasionally on the 35. they have a fix for it but sometimes just pulling the nozzle out and trying it again works.

 

OI has heard of the problem. They replaced the tank and bucket on my sedan a couple of years ago because of it. The sedan still has that problem every now and then.

I have learned that once it clicks off (and the tank isn't full) start pumping slowly by barely squeezing the pump trigger and keep slowly squeezing it until you're all the way open.

* IF YOU CONFIRM The fuel tank is difficult to fill more than ½ (filling nozzle continues to click OFF when the fuel tank is more than ½ full), ACTIONS Install the Cut Bracket (cover) onto the Fill Limit Vent Valve (FLVV) inside the fuel tank. See this bulletin for further detail.

No problem, man. I've researched this a couple of months back as I have this problem but it doesn't happen so often. So I'm waiting to see if it gets any worse before I bring mine in. Good luck!
