Engine BURNT

Took my car to get the oil changed at a texaco on 4th st yesterday. I took the car straight back home and didnt leave till like 11. Jumped on interstate and start smelling something burning so I pull off right as engine siezes up and we pushed the car to the gas station. Turns out they didnt put back on the drain plug and my engine was running on no oil and is now burnt to ****. Take your cars to the dealership for oil changes dont risk it.

If it had no oil in it, the oil light surely would of went on, even though its prob too late when it goes on.

And you can take your car anywhere just watch them.. or DIY.

So your motor is proly SOL, is texaco going to pay for it?

A coworker had his oil changed recently, and then came to work. As he was leaving, he had a huge oil leak at the gasket for the oil filter. That **** sprayed everywhere because it was hitting the fans.

Anyways, luckily he caught it (or rather someone saw the oil pouring from the car) and they redid the oil change.

It's stories like these that remind me of why I change my own oil.

Sucks!!!

i woudnt even trust the dealer, my dad took his titan to the local nissan dealer out here for a oil change one day. he left it at the dealer, went home and got a call later saying his truck is done. we pick it up, take it home to and dad checked the oil level only to find out its still completely black so he checks the oil filter and its still the same Old one (he likes to mark them) he went back and raised hell so they gave him 3 free oil changes.

turns out that dealer is now closed and we only got to claim 1 oil change FML! lol

Wow, that sux... sorry to hear...

I think it's going to be difficult to get someone to pay for a new engine when they only did a $25 oil change... Probably time for a lawyer...
