Dealership Warranty Issues
Has anybody had any experience with dealerships and getting warranty work done? I'm still covered under powertrain warranty and I have been having white smoke come from the exhaust which leads me to believe I'm burning oil. I don't think it is a vacuum leak because the car still runs smooth and idles fine which leads me to believe it's caused somewhere in the engine (piston rings or a valve seal). I took the car to Melbourne Infiniti and they said it's probably a vacuum leak due to the 5/16 spacer and it voids the warranty. This is ridiculous it should not void the warranty if it's not the cause of the problem. My question is, has anybody had warranty work done? If so at which dealer? How are they at Lokey? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
take all your mods off, go to the dealership. have warranty work done. replace mods. done.
or just supply them with evidence that its their product (in this case, the motor) that is defective... and show them all of the other cases of oil consumption.

What work have you had done and what mods do you have? Also who have you dealt with at Lokey? I don't know if they will replace an engine due to oil consumption even though there has been some issues with the VQ.
Well in all fairness I have only had the exhaust recall, instrument cluster peeling, bad battery, and valve ticking so nothing major like you got and I am still under bumper to bumper. Lokey is where most the Tampa/St Pete FGC go. Christene and Christian always take care of me.

most dealerships avoid the hassle of modded cars so they will just blow you up. your 2 options are remove the mods and go to another dealer or go to somewhere friendly like lokey.

1) Take off the plenum spacer and return to Melbourne Infiniti and present the same problem to them.
2) Go to Lokey Infiniti and ask for Christian to be your tech. He replaced my transmission & I highly recommend him to everyone. I didn't deal with Christine but I was told she's the best service advisor.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna try Lokey after I remove some stuff. Do you think I should remove the ACT Flywheel also. It doesn't have anything to do with the powertrain but neither does the spacer. I'd hate to got through the trouble of removing the flywheel. Does anybody have a stock flywheel?
^ Thats nice too know.
I talked to the master tech at the dealer I go to he is cool, I am going to talk to him again about modded cars and that dealer. After they are finished with my front compression rods :O He is into bikes though, and doesn't care much other then fixing Infiniti's so I wonder what he will say, I am too lazy to take off my Ztube soo I am leaving it on this time.
